Bartlett-Hall-Dyptych-3

The San Francisco Brewers Guild is happy to welcome Bartlett Hall to our growing community of brewers. Bartlett Hall is located in the heart of Union Square at 242 O’Farrell Street. Brewmaster Christopher Wike is manning the brewery’s seven barrel system and recently unveiled three new beers.

According to Wike, the brewing program is focused on creating a diverse selection of beers that are “unpretentious for the novice, yet complex enough for the aficionado.”  The new beers include:

Hoppy Scottsmen
Hop forward Scotch Ale made with maris otter, pale, chocolate, and crystal malt, along with some roasted barley. The hop additions included Northern Brewer and Fuggles.

1st Second Try
Extra Pale Ale made with pale malt and Ahtanum hops.

In the Barrel
West Coast Pilsner finished in the Kolsch style, made with German pilsner malt, carapils, corn, and rice.

In addition to the house brewed beer, Bartlett Hall offers a wide variety of local beers on tap, craft cocktails, and a full menu of delicious food options for lunch and dinner. Emmanuel Eng is the executive chef. The choices range from snacks, like the miso and maple glazed ribs, to pizzas, small plates, and larger offerings like “The Maverick,” a kobe butter burger with cheddar & stout rarebit, crispy onions, and kennebec fries.

So who’s Bartlett? That’s a historic nod to Washington Allon Bartlett.  As the first American era mayor in 1847, Bartlett changed the name of the city from Yerba Buena to San Francisco.

Bartlett Hall is open daily from 11am to 2am. You can keep tabs on their beer selection, food, activities, and events, by following them on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.
