Every year since 2004, the San Francisco Brewers Guild has hoisted its flag atop the merchant marine ship SS Jermiah O’Brien at Pier 45 for a singularly unique and beautiful festival. Brews on the Bay is a craft beer celebration like no other, aboard a World War II ship overlooking the entire Bay and, appropriately enough, showcasing only San Francisco breweries and San Francisco-produced beers.

“Imagine staring at sailboats floating past Alcatraz while tasting beer from dozens of San Francisco breweries, including both veteran and newcomers to the craft beer market,” describes David “Zambo” Zamborski, director of brewing at Speakeasy Ales & Lagers.

“To drink locally hand-crafted ales and lagers aboard an historic American ship, floating on one of the most famous bays in the world… who the hell wouldn’t want to do that?”

Indeed brewers will be out in force, serving unlimited pours of their latest and greatest IPAs, farmhouse ales, session beers, barrel-aged sours, imperial stouts, and many other beer styles, with over 70 beers flowing from:
