The Brewers Association number crunched all of this year’s Great American Beer Festival (GABF) entries and outcomes. Their conclusion: the number of entries from a state is highly predictive of the number of medals won by that state EXCEPT here in California‬.

As the “outlier,” California landed over 36% MORE medals than this otherwise solid forecasting model predicted we would (67 vs. 49), which illustrates something we already knew:

We make supremely tasty beer here!

And here at the SF Brewers Guild, we’re particularly proud of the record number of medals San Francisco craft brewers took home this year — five total, and fortunately, too, many of these brews are still being served throughout the Bay Area.

BRONZE
