When the fog rolls into San Francisco, sometimes it just doesn’t want to leave the next day. That wasn’t the case last Saturday, September 15th, during the 9th edition of Brews on the Bay. It was a brilliant sunny day as we welcomed over 1,400 attendees aboard the S.S. Jeremiah O’Brien. The event was a huge success and we’re extremely grateful for all the support from our member breweries, the ship’s crew, volunteers, and most importantly, those of you who attended.

Seven new member breweries were pouring for the first time at the event: Almanac Beer, Shmaltz Brewing Company, MateVeza, Southern Pacific Brewing, Southpaw BBQ, Pizza Orgasmic and Pacific Brewing Laboratory. More breweries meant an even bigger beer selection was available to attendees. Over fifty different beers were flowing on the ship and adjacent pier, where guests also found four food trucks. Ebbett’s Good to Go and Doc’s of the Bay were back this year alongside newcomers Kung Foo Tacos and the Municher. If the beer, food and  beautiful views weren’t enough to enjoy, The Whiskey Pills Fiasco and The Up and Down kept people jumping and jiving on the ship and dock.

If you weren’t able to attend this year, then you’ll have to join us in 2013 when we celebrate the 10th anniversary of Brews on the Bay. Until then, visit our member breweries, find their beer in bars or stores, and get ready for SF Beer Week 2013, which takes place next February 8-17.
