Local Brewing Co. hosts Meet the Brewers night July 20, when SF brewers will be mixing and mingling from 6-9pm.

For its first time hosting a SF Brewers Guild Meet the Brewers event, Local will have 16 taps flowing of their house brews, including tapping of all three of their special 1-year anniversary beers (celebrated last month), as well as their special anniversary blend:

The Big One: A SMaSH (single malt, single hop) made in celebration of our first year anniversary on Bluxome Street. We used Simpsons Golden Promise and 44# of Hallertau Blanc — hops were added in the mash, first wort additions, kettle additions and dry-hop additions. 8.7% ABV

Salty Dog Gose: We brought in Lactobacillus Brevis and kettle-soured our German Pilsner and German Wheat malt bill, and added a touch of sour cherries and Pink Himalayan Salt post fermentation to yield a refreshing Gose. Sterling hops add a pithy grapefruit finish. 5.1% ABV

Mezcal Red Lager: a Common Lager brewed with Oak Smoked Wheat and oak chips soaked in Mezcal added post fermentation. Slightly smokey and sweet, with a dry finish. 5.9% ABV

Special Blend > Red Sweater: We saved just one keg our Winter Sweater Imperial Porter (released last December) for an inevitable foggy SF Summer day and decided to blend it with our anniversary Mezcal Red Lager. Winter Sweater was brewed with graham crackers and Madagascar Vanilla Beans and is straight up dangerous when blended with our smokey and sweet Mezcal Red. 8.0% ABV

Local will have outdoor seating and corn hole setup from 6-9pm for this special event, plus fresh, custom cans to go.

Then at 7pm, the City’s first free ‘hop on, hop off’ Drink SF Beer shuttle will kick in, featuring the Union / SoMA Line with stops at:

Local Brewing
Black Hammer Brewing
ThirstyBear Organic Brewery (at Kaplan St. entrance)
Cellarmaker Brewing
Bartlett Hall
21st Amendment Brewpub

…then back to Local Brewing to start the loop again. Shuttles stop at each venue every 15-20 minutes, making it easy to check out these great neighborhood spots.

The Drink SF Beer shuttle runs nonstop from 7-11:35pm, and you can put the complete schedule, including route details, in your pocket at
